There are indications that President Muhammadu Buhari may extend his 10-day vacation to London to treat an ear infection. Sahara Reporters reports that the president also has a terrible cough that has persisted longer than the ear infection and also needs to be examined for that.

President Buhari departed for London a a 10-day vacation Sources who spoke on condition of anonymity said there are about 10 persons on Buhari’s support team to London. “ This includes his (Mr. Buhari’s) physician Dr. Sanusi Rafindadi and another medical consultant,” the source stated. Other members of the team include his Aide-de- Camp, Lt. Colonel Muhammed Lawal Abubakar; the State Chief of Protocol (SCOP), Lawal Kazaure; the Chief Security Officer (CSO); his personal assistant and a cook. According to the source, Buhari will reside in “Abuja House,” the official residence of the Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. The source added that the president is expected to remain in outpatient care in the days following his medical visit, which suggests that surgery may be on the cards for Buhari. Buhari departed on a 10-day trip to London on Monday. The presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina said his boss has a ‘persistent ear infection’ which has been examined and treated by his personal physician and an E.N.T specialist in Abuja but they recommended further evaluation purely as a precaution. The presidency has maintained that Buhari is not ill, saying it was wrong for people to refer to his ear infection as illness. The Peoples Democratic Party was the first to publicise the alleged illness of the president.
