The First Lady of Nigeria has arrived the Dulles International Airport in Washington DC, United States, on Wednesday evening, August 3.
According to the Nigerian Embassy in Washington DC, Mrs Buhari arrived on a British Airways flight from London.
During her ten-day visit Mrs Buhari will attend a number of special events and visit several institutions.
Among them are the bilateral meetings at the George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia; the 25th Anniversary celebration of Zumunta Association USA Inc; the United States Institute of Peace in collaboration with Voice of America media organization.
According to the official documents Mrs Buhari was expected to arrive America on August 1 but was held back by official delays in Nigeria.
Recall that Mrs Buhari has been in the centre of political scandal involving Ayo Fayose, the governor of Ekiti state, who accused her being a part of the Halliburton scandal and inability to visit the US in fear of arrest.
By the way, Mr. Fayose himself can’t to travel to the US legally as his US visa was revoked since 2006 over sponsoring violence duting elections in Ekiti state and for corrupt practices, according to leaked documents from the US State Department.
