Youssef Chahed was named prime minister after parliament ousted Habib Essid in a vote of no-confidence because of his handling of economic reforms and security.The decision was taken on Monday after a consultation meeting with stakeholders of the National unity government.
The new prime minister, a U.S.-trained agricultural economist served as minister in the government that was served a no-confidence vote over the weekend. Chahed assured that women would be better represented in his cabinet than the previous governments and called for a greater youth involvement.
